Think, hole-in-the-wall with great food. This Southern style barbeque in South Orange County is smoked and flavorful even without the tasty BBQ sauce. Not that you have anything to worry about, their extensive selection of BBQ sauces does not disappoint! They also brew their own root beer, which pairs GREAT with the entire menu. You can’t go wrong with any of the sides but according to the Yelp reviews, the best place to start is with the coconut-creamed corn!

Southern style BBQ smack dab in the middle of Little Saigon, The Smoking Ribs is an unexpectedly great spot to snag some seriously great barbeque. The meat falls off the bone and the blueberry cornbread is a crowd pleaser. Pulled pork fries are another crowed pleaser as well as the ribs. You really can’t go wrong because the meats are all tender and moist with great flavor!

Jav’s Bar-B-Q is a food truck and catering company. You can find them Wednesdays at Twila Reid Park in Anaheim and on Thursdays at the Downtown Anaheim Farmer’s Market at the Promenade. And if you really want the full experience, Jav will come with his smoker for a catered party and he doesn’t disappoint. According the reviews not only are the meats smoked to perfection with a secret rub for delicious flavor, Jav himself brings great service with a true passion and expertise in everything BBQ. There’s no brick and mortar location yet but if the Yelp reviews are any indication, hopefully there will be one soon!

BT’s is a great little neighborhood BBQ joint located within an unsuspecting strip mall in Huntington Beach. Not only does it have great BBQ, it also has a nice selection of local craft beers to choose from that is constantly rotating. Great portions and prices to keep you coming back for more!

There is great food and large portions at Leadbelly’s Barbeque in Fullerton – you definitely won’t leave hungry. Choose from the spicy or sweet BBQ sauce, don’t skimp on the sides (we suggest the jalapeno mac and cheese) and, if you have room, spring for the pork belly fries. They may be an appetizer, but they are large and loaded. The restaurant has a nice, relaxed neighborhood vibe with tons of kitsch decorating the walls from a sports scoreboard to a horse head.

Eat meat, drink beer. That’s the slogan at Meat Up BBQ and it about sums up the experience you’ll have. The restaurant in Placentia has 25 craft beers on tap. This place is popular and the menu will even tell you, the best stuff sells out fast like the St. Louis Spare Ribs. The menu is big a diverse with tons of specialty barbeque sandwiches and burgers as well as the classic meat entrees. And don’t forget to dig in to some garlic feta fries for the win – yum!

You’ll find fall of the bone ribs at Hambone’s in Huntington Beach. The restaurant has a nice laid back vibe, patio seating and great service. Eat in or pick up it up to enjoy at home, the pulled pork and tri-tip and smoked low and slow for maximum flavor all around. Hambone’s also has a Bellflower location for the LA County crowd. The only thing Hambone’s is missing is a liquor license (they are a new business!). Sorry, no beer with your BBQ for the time being.
