Knott’s Boysenberry Festival 2015

Saturday, March 28th – Sunday April 12th
Ghost Town in Knott’s Berry Farm

Knott’s Boysenberry Festival begun last weekend and will continue till April 12th. The festival features tons of delicious boysenberry inspired foods including ribs, chicken and other charbroiled treats smothered with boysenberry glaze – yum! The festival is held throughout the streets of Ghost Town. There will also be a wine and craft brew tasting garden, live entertainment and farm fresh fun for the whole family.

9th Annual Easter Festival & Food Truck Brunch

Saturday, April 4th
9AM-2:30PM at the Orange County Fair Grounds

There will be tons of free fun going on at the OC Market Place this weekend for Easter that you don’t want to miss. There will be special breakfast menus at all the Food trucks. Festivities include a Free Treasure Hunt from 10am-2pm through Market Place vendors, free face painting from 9:30am-1pm, Free Springtime Puppet Parade show at 11am and 1pm, free photos with the Easter bunny and more.

First Dunkin’ Donuts in Orange County Grand Opening

Wednesday, April 8th
5AM in Laguna Hills

The first Dunkin’ Donuts is coming to Orange County this month! Doors open at the Laguna Hills location at 25242 McIntyre Street at 5am on April 8th. The first in line and the first in the drive-thru will win a free cup of coffee every day for a year!

We Are Earth Day

Saturday, April 11th
10AM-4PM at The Ecology Center in San Juan

If you celebrate Earth Day at The Ecology Center then you get free tacos, live music and you get to play with farm animals. All proceeds from Earth Day support our Grow Your Own! school garden program at 20 local schools to teach kids about the relationship between food, health, and the environment. So come out for some fun and celebrate Earth Day right!

Froyo 5K

Saturday, April 11th
10AM at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater

A 5k sprinkled with awesomeness! Dancing is encouraged because there will be fresh DJ sounds to energize you as soon as you arrive at the pre-party, throughout the 5K and during the after-party. Replenish at the two FroZones with misting tunnels and crisp refreshment and pick up some awesome swag including a tasty cup of froyo! For more info on registration, check out the website.

22nd Annual SOS Wild & Crazy Taco Night

Thursday, April 16th
4:30-7:30PM in Costa Mesa

26 of Orange County’s finest chefs and restaurants will come together for Wild & Crazy Taco Night to craft some of the most amazingly unique tacos you’ve ever tasted. Tickets are $80 general admission and $150 for a VIP pass. It’s a bit pricey but it’s for a great cause. Event proceeds benefit Share Our Selves (SOS) Food Pantry feeding more than 215 Orange County families every day. Ticket price includes all you can eat tacos and assorted beverages including margaritas, beer, soda and water.

Star Wars Celebration – Anaheim 2015

Held at the Anaheim Convention Center

Fans of all ages from around the world are coming together for the Star Wars Celebration 2015. California Wine Festival

Friday, April 17th – Saturday, April 18th
Dana Point

Seaside is the best way to enjoy California’s best wineries. Come for the Sunset Reserve & Rare Wine Tasting Friday night or for the beachside festival from 1-4pm on Saturday at Lantern Bay Park. The weekend will include showcases of nearly 250 wines from over 70 wineries and tons of local fine dining restaurants and exhibitors. OC Fair Pop-Up Parties

The Orange County Fair is celebrating 125 years of food and fun this summer. To ramp up for the big party OC Fair is putting on a serious of Pop-Up Parties around the Southland. The Pop-Up parties started in February and the last one is in May. Check out what’s scheduled this month:

  • April 11th: 9am-Noon at the Heritage Museum of OC
  • April 18th – 19th: 10am-5pm at the LA Times Festival of Books
  • April 24th – 26th: Friday 9am-3pm, Saturday-Sunday 10am-5pm at Imaginology at the OC Fair & Event Center

Each Pop-Up Party features a complimentary sweet treat and prizes including OC Fair tickets and other goodies as well as an opportunity to win an OC Fair Super Pass (season pass).

WonderCon Anaheim 2015

Friday, April 3rd – Sunday, Apirl 5th
Held at the Anaheim Convention Center

WonderCon Anaheim offers an incredible variety of panel discussions, comics publisher presentations, movie and TV series events, and much more. On Friday and Saturday, the program schedule extends into the evening hours and includes special nighttime programs. There will be autograph signings, screenings, panels, interactive exhibits and the WonderCon Anaheim Masquerade will return for it’s 11th year.

Imaginology Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead

Friday, April 24th – Sunday, April 26th
Held at the Orange County Fair Grounds

Re-imagined Youth Expo featuring free family friendly exhibits and activities all about S.T.E.A.M – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Bring your kids out for an educationally good time including hands on exhibits, information on careers in agriculture, science, technology and the arts plus more entertainment, competitions and contests all geared toward youth from pre-school through high school.

Taste of Huntington Beach

Sunday, April 26th
12-4PM at the Huntington Beach Central Park Sports Complex

Feast on unlimited tastes from your favorite local eateries, sip on samples of wine and beer from California wineries and breweries, bid on silent action baskets, dance to live music and enter to win awesome raffle prizes at the Taste of Huntington Beach.

OC Weekly ARTOPIA Interactive Gallery Experience

Saturday, May 2nd
6-9PM at the Business Expo Center

We included this event because if you want to go you’ll need to reserve your spot this month. Artopia is an annual OC Weekly event celebrating Orange County’s vibrant art scene. There will be exhibits from visual and performing arts from fashion and art to music and athletics.

20 local artists are chosen during The Creatives contest, by OC Weekly staff and readers, to exhibit their work in an interactive gallery experience. And to keep the party going, local restaurants and bars will set up sampling booths with inventive food and drink pairings for the evening.
